The flowers are much frequented by bees and provide a bounty of nectar for insect pollinators. It is a bristly perennial with five bright violet-blue petals. It can be seen in the nature at spring before the weather gets to warm in Spain. Anchusa’s are native to Europe and well-known as a colorful noxious weed.
