ROSA RUGOSA ALBA
ROSA RUGOSA ALBA
Inspiration:
I wanted to make something romantic that will last for many years.
Rosa Rugosa Alba are very beautiful and fragrant. They are repeat-flowering and bear large rosehips in autumn. Rugosas are extremely hardy and disease resistant, and will thrive in poor sandy soils and coastal areas - even growing on sand dunes. They are usually very thorny; ideal for creating impenetrable hedges.
The plant puts many root shoots and it is naturalized on a sandy bottom by beaches and dunes and outcompetes other (native) species. Especially the pink rugosa is seen everywhere.
Rosa rugosa is known for attracting bees, insects, birds, butterflies/moths and other pollinators. It has nectar/pollen rich flowers, provides shelter and habitat.
